OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFESPORT POLICY AND PRACTICE

Zero Gravity Gymnastics is committed to creating and fostering a safe, positive and empowering environment for girls and young women; regardless of their age, ability, ethnicity or financial situation.

 

We firmly support the equality of all girls and women in sports. 

​

Zero Gravity Gymnastics not only aligns to all policies outlined in the guidelines of the U.S. Center for SafeSport, but believes in going above and beyond standard requirements for safeguarding the physical, emotional and mental health of our athletes.

SafeSport is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to bring awareness to issues of abuse in youth sports and offers many resources such as guidelines to recognize the signs of abuse and systemic abusive behaviors, training workshops and seminars for the prevention of abuse and provides reporting avenues. Their mission states:

 

“The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent nonprofit committed to building a sport community where participants can work and learn together free of emotional, physical and sexual abuse and misconduct."  https://uscenterforsafesport.org/

 

​The website provides additional SafeSport policy guidlines, training resources, reporting avenues and clearly outlined definitions of types of abuse and provides examples of behaviors that constitute these types of abuse, including specific information in regards to systemic abusive practices such as “grooming,” stalking, bullying, hazing and harrassment.  The SafeSport website provides reporting options such as:

  • Failure to report

  • Intentionally filing a false allegation

• RELATED TO PROCESS

  • Abuse of process

  • Retaliation

• AIDING & ABETTING

•    Knowingly facilitating, promoting or encouraging a violation of any restriction placed on a member or participant by the U.S. Center for SafeSport or USA Gymnastics.

Our organization has a zero tolerance stance on abusive practices and behaviors and are committed to following the practices and policies outlined by SafeSport Duty To Report policy.
